Supreme Champion Welsh Cob Saith Magical Dream was born on 8th July 1998. Bit of a surprise for us as
we didnt know Coriander was in foal, and poor Coriander was still showing ! Dragon (yearling) served
Coriander (2 yr old) and Dream was the result. Dream had an exceptional showing career as a 4 yr old, and
has become Supreme Champion in hand and ridden as well as many 1sts and championships under saddle.
We sold Dream as a 4 yr old, and bought her back as a 6 yr old.
After a year of settling down, Dream started coming back into herself and came back with force. !
She won many local classes and then we started doing County shows with her. 2005 was a fantastic year for us with Dream. She was always in the top three and eventually shone one day to win an Olympia qualifier at NPS 25 Lympsham. She then went on to become Supreme champion, gaining us a much coveted place at Olympia. I think Steve and myself cried tears of joy for hours ! Well ok it was just me ! What a party that night at our friend's house.
Then a week later she went onto win a very large class at the Royal Welsh and then to become Champion. This gave us the ticket to go to Horse of the Year Show in the NEC. We were so excited about this and just couldn't believe that we had qualified for two of the top shows in the country. Winning and becoming champion at the Royal Welsh was amazing, absolutely amazing.
At HOYS she came 3rd, beaten by 2 section C's, so was the first welsh cob (HOYS has C's and D's in the same class at that time). I cried again ! Really nervous about Olympia but unfortunately spectators clapped before her ridden individual and she decided that it was just too exciting and lost the plot, up until then she was going beautifully.
She loves to hunt, jump and really enjoys fun rides. She hates schooling ! She has extremely grumpy days and also real loving days. She is kind natured and easy to do. She is now retired as a broodmare having proven herself, but sometimes comes out in hand for a treat. We may bring her out under saddle with me plodding around on her as she gets older, just have to wait and see.
Dream in 2008 has won a WP&CS Bronze In Hand Medal at the Vale of Glamorgan show becoming Champion and then Reserve Supreme of the show.
