19th December 2011

Ohhh Christmas is nearly here ! Steve and I want to wish everyone a happy christmas and a safe and happy New year ! Just love christmas : lots of parties : lots of hangovers lol and lots of people smiling ! Best bit of all.

Weather isnt brilliant now, and the foals ginger and JB are in the barn while its so wet. We shall be trying to do another video of Wezz soon, but the weather keeps getting in the way !

Did feel sorry for the rest of them though, all standing outside the barn looking very sad - they hate the rain . So do I.

Heard that Morgan has now been sold and is near Charm and Tiffany ! Hope his new owner enjoys him as much as Kate did.

So its the end of another year - pretty glad to see this year end to be honest - next year its all going to be different !!

Thank you for eveyrone who has visited our site over the past year.

You all have a great time !!!!

26th November 2011

What a great couple of weeks ! firstly last weekend ginger did us proud and came 1st and reserve Champion at SWA WP&CS show, really pleased, and this week Saith black Pepper, who was absolutely stinking yesterday, and nearly didnt go because of how dirty he was, went to the Avon & Borders show today. He is still growing so all over the place, but came 1st, champion D, and Reserve champion overall welsh youngstock. I was amazed and OMG living on the edge as he was pinging. He bucked, reared, danced but still did the most lovely trots for me. Out of the two, I would rather put up with Pepper's high energy than laid back ginger ! lol

Everyone is just ticking along and the hay is being delivered tomorrow, so no lie in for me :(

Great end to the year's showing - well what little we did, but luckily so successful.

Looking forward to next year when Ginger and Pepper wil be 3 and hopefully be able to get out to a few shows with them, and of course, Hazel. Dream can go to a few and maybe take Penni out as she moves so well.

So hopefully, all fingers crossed, we will have some fun next year with them all.

27th October 2011

We actually got to a show !! first in months and months, and Hazel didnt let me down. She came 1st in the C/D in hand and then Reserve champion to the Queen's highland in NPS area 25's Oct show.! It was a great show and so many people came over to chat and lovely, lovely comments about Hazel.

We had the foals microchipped and tetanused today - ohh not nice, but they coped. I didnt had to come home and make a cake - not a brilliant idea as I cant cook, but I needed comfort food. Horrible day with the weather though, both foals are in and Wezz is now weaned and with Dream and Penni in the barn.

JB is absolutely great, back to his normal self and running around the field ! Over the moon with that, he always makes me smile and hes back on track now.

Frankie is off on a week's trial, and I did "positive Training" learned from Jenni Nellist (on links page) and Frankie was walking in and out of the trailer - by himself - within 20 minutes. Never done it before and really shocked and pleased how easy it was and how unstressful. He travelled really well, with lots of checking on him and his eyes were on stalks when he got to his new home.

Went to see Saith Sebastian last week - strange isnt it, because he is literally 20 mins away and we've not been over to see him ! lol. He was amazing, he looks fantastic - now 3 and learning lots, but the best thing was that he was asbolutely bomb proof ! He is the confidence giver with the youngsters !

Storm has been fantastic this month, doing well in dressage and his jumping is really coming on. Lucy hopes to do more jumping with him over the winter.

1st October 2011

Another month gone and I just dont know where the time goes... flies by. - true sign of getting older ! lol. Went really wintery and now its summer back, just loving it :) Some winter shows to look forward to and hopefully have at least one ready. Jb still not right, but still improving so thats all that matters.

Jenni has been riding out Amber and I took Hazel for an in hand walk with her the other day and a range rover nearly killed us both - came flying down the lane and just stopped - my heart was in my mouth and my legs went to jelly. I really thought that was it.

Steve said he should have paid the driver more ! lol. I just dont see how anyone can speed down a lane, but there you go, some idiots around.

Amber is so good for Hazel, as she is bombproof with tractors and horrible lorries etc., so hazel cwtched in behind her and Amber told her "its ok."

Wezz is looking amazing and will be having his last video done next week, and then put him on Horsequest for sale. We have had lots of offers, so its just one more push and then we can sit back and sort through who would be best for him, as he is going to be an amazing fella.

Penni is still taking time to come into herself, but she's bright and happy. Will keep her on Dream for the winter and then wean her off come spring. I think this will help her alot and keep dream slim !

Nothing is in foal next year - such a relief ! - no worrying about sleeping in the barn, or anything going wrong, can just relax and enjoy the year.

Got our hay sorted with Hugh Williams Doghill Farm Dyffryn. So pleased about that, although no.2. son robbie said it was going to snow in November ! ahhhh.

Im hoping that next year things will be back to some sort of normal. This year has been a total wipe out and Ive lost the will to live on certain days ! With Pepper, Ginger both being 3, and Dream as our 4 yr old and over we should have a good choice to pick from. Of course, not to forget Hazel.

Amber may be going to a small stud producing warmbloods for the sports market. I think she will do exceptionally well there, as she has such fantastic muscle structure. Shall wait and see on that one.

Hope everyone out there is ok :)

30th August 2011

Got some hay sorted with a local farmer who has the most lovely hay. I sadly cannot feed ours that as it is just too good, so they are having slightly rougher hay. Had a lovely stud visit from Afterglow stud and it was nice to get the horses groomed and looking normal again. Wezz had his first little bath and his mane and tail came up gleaming white. Lovely day and not raining !

Amber is fat - so if anyone would like to have her on loan (approved home only) she will be available.

Saith Black Storm completed his first one day event, and came 3rd ! Very impressed with that !

Winter is knocking on the door and now its sorting out the rugs and thinking of trying to get out to a winter show somewhere.

Ive forgotten how to ride, hoping JB is up for it soon, miss riding him so much.

Jenni Nellist has been absolutely brilliant with training. If you really want to find someone that actually thinks about the horse, is kind and so knowledgable, please get in touch with her. (details on our links page)

She is definitely going to break in Pepper and Ginger.

Pepper was booked into a show last week and when I told him, he then cut his leg ! Couldnt believe it. So no show !!

Got to start running or riding soon, as the weight is slowly going on again !

H

2nd August 2011

Things just plodding along (to coin a phrase lol) - horses are all fine and we are hoping to get out to a show this month ! Can I run ?? LOL. Steve decided to cut some hay this week, when it has rained ! typical, but hopefully it will dry out and we can get it in before the next lot of rain.

26th Anniversary for me and Peter tomorrow - so day off and going out - not sure where as its "as surprise" :)

Saith Black Storm has been doing really well lately and again was first at the dressage this weekend, Saith DK came 2nd in his ridden show. Dot and Liz are still buzzing from their lovely few days at the Royal Welsh.

Delight is being taught side saddle (gulp!) brave nikki ! lol and Saith Magical Jazz is up for sale - see her on our for sale page. Saith Revels Mojoe is doing really well with his training under saddle - hopefully he will continue to do so :)

So all is well, still trying to find treasure ! Going on a Treasuring Hunting rally this weekend - should be a laugh.

H

13 July 2011

Home safely from a beautiful week in Cyprus. I really wanted to stay, it was so lovely there. Steve coped with the horses while I was away and all were fine. Still have the virus but only one now, so hopefully in a few weeks we will be back out showing. All looking amazing at the moment, except of course, JB as he has to be skinny for the rest of his life now - wish I could say the same about me ! lol

Really quiet apart from that, still doing the treasure hunting trying to find the gold ! lol

Saith Black Storm has been flying the flag and has won 2 dressage competitions in two weeks. Well done to Lucy and Storm :) Saith magical Delight is coming on so well, Nikki sent me a video of her in the arena, doing a lovely relaxed trot and walk and really pleased that she found someone like Nikki that was going to take the time with her.

Wezz and Penni are looking great at the moment. Wezz having a fab time being out with Pepper and Frankie - he plays all day and just flops down to sleep, then back up to play. He has so much energy - like his dad who regularly goes on 25 mile drives.

We decided with Wezz to wait until he is 6 months old and see where we are with him then. We have had loads of enquiries for him and made the decision that when he is 6 months old we will re-advertise him as we really dont know what he will be. He is a really solid chap though, and so friendly, but if I win the lottery or find the hoard, he isnt going anywhere !

Must take some more photos of Penni, as she is so pretty and such a beautiful mover. My friend has got the video camera at the moment, but when I get it back will do a video of her.

Poor Steve has man flu and can hardly speak ! Big problem for him LOL.

H

20th June 2011

Angel has settled in well and Im really pleased with her, having her full MOT tomorrow with Bethan Lloyd and
then teeth done and we start on the riding. On the in hand side, she is doing brilliantly, totally focused on me and enjoying the work.

We had a lovely morning with Elgin and Bethan from Gwrthafarn stud, unfortunately in the rain (want it to stop now !) and Wezz gave them a lovely display. Penni actually tried as well ! bless her. She is still trying to catch up and when Elgin told us about their two week early foal that sadly had to be put down, I was so glad that Penni was running around and happy. Ok she still looks a bit weak, but she's alive and running !

Wezz is now out with Frankie and he is so glad, just loves to play and Frankie is absolutely amazing with him, puts up with him biting and jumping all over him, just is so kind with the foals.

Two weeks to holiday and then hopefully everyone will be clear of the virus, and we shall be back out showing with force !! hazel just looks stunning at the moment and Im hoping she stays that way !

This weather is driving me mad though ! one minute sunshine next rain - lightweight rugs on and off ! as we show from the field we try and keep their coats looking good, but its been hard normally all rugs are off , but its definitely been winter some days ! Its pouring now ! Foals are in the barn and have loads of play things and room to run around.

Want to say congratulations to Lucy who has been riding Storm so well, qualifying for the Championship of Great Britain Dressage. Sadly Lucy cant afford to go, (we are all a bit tight at the moment) but he did it and shows he is a star ! little so and so loading though ! lol He has been brilliant with the rain and the wind.

Also wanted to congratulate a friend of ours, Chris with Ben for qualifying for HOYS ! Well done Chris !

More photos of penni and wezz on their pages.

10th June 2011

We had a phone call from Sue who owned Saith Magical Angel and as Tracey is on bigger horses and going off to uni, we have now got Saith Magical Angel back.

I really didnt want anymore (famous last words), but always had a soft spot for Angel, since she nearly died as a foal, so she is a special one and certainly had an Angel looking after her.

At last Saith Magjcal Penni has started coming into herself. She was galloping around the field last night and having a great time. She has been pretty quiet since being born and I was getting a bit worried being two weeks early, but now Im happy. Gave Wezz a run for his money ! lol Dream sadly has gone a bit dappy on her hooves so she will have to be in for a few days. Ive just bought all the fatties a muzzle ! so that should help with the weight, as the grass has just as exploded.

Only a few left with the cough and we should be out showing again, missing it so much. Trying to organise a holiday soon -somewhere hot hot hot - just love the sunshine and hot weather. Poor Steve will have to do the horses for a week. - or should I say poor horses ! lol

H

7th June 2011

The new baby is called Saith Magical Penni after my 800 yr old penny lol - she still looks prem as she should have been born next week - she doesnt stop sleeping and feeding lol - Dream is being a very good mum. lots of interest in Wezz, and great comments on his latest video from friends.

Only two left with the virus and then we can start showing - am tempted to take hazel out this weekend as she is now fine and looks beautiful ! just see what the weekend brings.

Had a lovely stud visit from Amanda and Craig (Birchmores stud) on Sunday. Such great people, and Amanda had a ride on Amber. We talked for hours and it was a really good afternoon, chatting about welshies. :) All of the cobs showed off and struted their stuff. Jb was superb, so pleased he is back to himself now - can start riding him in a few weeks. Oh that will be heaven. :)

H

31st May 2011

Had an eventful 3 days ! firstly found an 800 yr old Irish silver penny - wow, then Dream who was due on 15th June decided to start producing milk ! dripping everywhere. stayed up for two nights and last night settled down and then she decided to pop. A beautiful black filly came out, 4 whites and a blaze, not sure of the blaze myself, bit big, but she is beautiful. So glad its all over, and everything was ok. Still havent caught up with sleep - but I will tonight, and of course wet the babies head ! Photos to come soon once I am normal again. LOL if ever.... cant think of names yet.

23rd May, 2011

Oh this no showing is really making my brain fry. Everyone looks fantastic, but cant do anything ! Obviously not wanting to infect anyone else's horse, but just so frustrating !!

Saith Black Storm has done well this weekend in BSPS show, 2 x 1sts - 2 x 2nds - couple of clear rounds, and fantastically Reserve Champ ! Really good news.

Wezz is growing fast and his movement ! wow!!! Going to do a "trot" video this week to show his fab movement. Dream getting bigger every day ! Everyone else is fine, JB is really well and Im just so happy about this, so can start loose schooling him soon to start rebuilding his muscles.

H

18th May, 2011

Not so busy last week, as most of the herd have a cold - this weather is changing so much, hot one day, freezing the next. Sadly it will have to run its course and go through them to get it cleared. So no showing last weekend and not sure when we can! Ahhhh be going crazy soon.

Went crazy on the weekend, no internet !! felt like my right arm had been cut off. LOL

Lately I just have not believed what good luck has been around the stud, but sadly back to normal last week, with everything going wrong ! lol. Well used to it in the past, and it was such a lovely few months of everything going right that I was finally thinking at last! Its nothing serious (thank goodness) but the little things - like going to get Amber in and im running late, and then the rope that ties the gate decided to do a huge knot which took ages to undo - just stuff like that - but its with everything I touch! lol.

Ah well the ghost must be back....... probably had a little holiday and missed us. :)

On the horses side of things (oh its all about me me me lol) apart from the cold, everyone is well. Wezz (the newbie) has had his headcollar on a few times now and had his first physio with Bethan and loved it. Bethan is so talented - she did Amber and found a few things that needed tweaking as she was loose schooling with her head to the outside of the arena - big signal that something is wrong. No riding for a while.

Frankie (now then) had a training session with the superb Jenni, and I recorded it. He is very nervous, but so wants to love you - but we have found a weakness - loves pony cubes and will do anything for them ! lol. Jenni was teaching him all about headcollars.

JB is nearly back on form playing with Pepper constantly, so I know he is a happy boy now and moving really well. Shall put him out in the 2nd skinny field so he has company with the girls and pepper can go out on grass again.

Dream is a month off foaling, seems like ages away but it will fly.

Have to sell a load this summer, so if anyone reading this knows of someone, tell them to come onto the web page. I have to cut down this year - keep saying this every year, but really need to do it, just cant face putting them in the WP&CS sale, but it might have come to that. Winter was so tough last year, I dont think I can go through another one with so many.

Went to see Eric Clapton last week, bit of a disappointment as he hardly said a word and felt like he could have been playing in rome, paris or london, or watching it on DVD. He is amazing, but it was so unpersonal, it was just shut up and listen and then I can go. On the other hand Andy fairweather low - his support - was incredible and really enjoyed him. Very funny guy.

Been out treasure hunting last week and still nothing ! Definitely lost my touch, but now buying a better machine that "goes deeper" ummm we'll see. Just love treasure hunting, Ive always walked along beaches and paths with my eyes on the floor - just in case - I love the outdoors and this is a way of wandering on beaches or over land daydreaming away. Since I cant seem to win the lottery - maybe Ill find treasure... ah ha me maties !

Steve is still suffering big time, he is trying to hard to loose weight, but its difficult for him as he has always been a big eater all his life. His ankle keeps swelling up like a balloon and so painful and if thats not enough, his back is in two everytime he tries to do something. He is very limited in what he can do up the farm, and Im a proper girlie when it comes to fence fixing etc., so the whole place looks like a tip at the moment. I did do some strimming the other day and ran out of petrol half way through and now its raining ! great, looks like a half done job. LOL My husband is really good at helping me, but I just dont want to keep dragging him up there saying do this and do that. Its not fair on him.

So I shall have to learn to be a tomboy girlie and try and do the manly stuff... lol - if you see me trying to do any DIY you would realise that its not a good thing to do.LOL

H

8th May, 2011

Been a busy week, doing the foal Wezz and now he has had the headcollar on and had a little walk. He can move though ! really pleased with that.

Went to a show with Ginger today, long day out. We got there at 9.30 and expected to be on at about 11.30, 1.30 was the time we eventually got on ! With two visits from the brilliant air ambulance, for two poor people who had fallen off, and Ginger just stood and watched as it landed near us. Big smile about that. Jenni turned up and gave lots of moral support. Only one in the class, and guess what - she came 1st ! lol, then in the championship D with two stallions, two yearlings, and me - really expected the stallions to get champion and reserve, but we were picked ! Wow ! 1st and Reserve - she was a good girl for me. So glad to get home after a night out last night, so a bit hungover, and thought it would be a quickie show - ha, the powers that be up above had other ideas.

Phone broke yesterday so got the "spare" one and I cant use the thing lol ! Got to get myself a new one now.

3rd May 2011

Annie is following us ! Saw her at the Brent Knoll Show on Monday. Lovely show if you can get to the summer show, well worth it, trophys and lovely rosettes. I was hoping to take Hazel, but she still has a runny nose, so pulled Pepper out of the field and he had a runny nose, couldnt take Ginger again that wouldnt be fair, so turned to the B team - Amber ! Amber does not like showing :( but no-one left - put her in the arena, to make sure she was ok, and she went potty - so yes she was going. Still hairy, and not muscled up yet, so felt that we would be down the end. Got there and we were in time for the Home produced with loads in it, and to my surprise and joy, came 1st - then into the championship and came champion.! Yes I was crying, couldnt believe it, she may be moved up to the A team!

Annie was there with a beautiful 2 yr old that would have put Pepper to shame ! So maybe thats why I wasnt allowed to take him. We have decided on a name and its Saith Wensleydale ! Cheese as thats the colour he will be. His page is up now so go and have a look. Looking forward to showing him as today he did his first trot and wow he can move. So happy now.

Took Amber for a walk today and probably ride tomorrow as Robert Pink wants to ride her in a show at the end of May (mad person !). Should be a bit of fun anyway. I wonder if she will take the micky with him as she does with me.

Freezing cold today though, two jumpers on.

H

30th April 2011

Now that the foal was born, could get back to showing. Took Ginger to Avon & Borders WP&CS Spring show at Badgeworth - lovely show, so nice to see lots of friends, and Ginger came 1st in the 2 yr old Section Ds. The Championship was won by our friend Annie with her beautiful black stallion and reserve by a 3 yr old colt. Really pleased with her, but she is pretty laid back and may be welsh classes arent her scene. M&M suites her bettter, as she takes it all in her stride. Lovely for the ridden job though, so Im not complaining !

Saith Black Storm was there too, and he did really well coming 2nd M&M - 3rd Welsh D and 5th Ridden Welsh d. Little Darling decided to pop a small buck in, in front of the judge when Lucy asked for canter on the go around ! lol. But his individual was fab - foot perfect. Superb day.

Came home and our pally was tail over his back !! Cant wait to take some decent photos of him as the ones I have are rubbish - so maybe tomorrow.

28th April 2011

Dead on time, Paith Magical Coriander produced a stunning Palomino colt foal. Four whites and a small blaze, absolutely beautiful. She gave birth at 7pm at night and I was home by 9.30pm, lovely. My son Robbie came and delivered the foal as Steve went home to change after being at Sally Morgan's funeral - im sure she was there. Perfect time. He has very long legs and a beautiful head. Photos soon. Both healthy and happy ! as well as Steve and myself.
April 24th 2011

What a weekend - firstly Saith Black Storm came 1st x 4 and then Champion at his show which made steve and I so happy for Lucy, and then today we took Saith Black Pepper (photos on his page) to his first show. We havent done hardly any work with him and only taught him to trot this week. ! I was extremely nervous and he loaded great and was hardly sweating when we got there. Waited about two hours and then we were in - 8 in the class all ages M&M and he was a star, extremely excited bouncing all over the place, but a good boy. We came to do the run and we ran really well with me, and I was so pleased. Then we were pulled in 1st !! OMG I couldnt believe it. The judge was a vet as well, so that made it even better.

We then went into the championship and amazingly came Reserve Champion, beating some superb stock, my mouth was hitting the floor, tears in my eyes, as again this was only a run out for him to learn about shows and travelling. What can I say, brilliant weekend ! Also Laura Gray, who used to ride for us, did a point to point and won on her own horse Celtic Boy. Congratulations Laura and of course Lucy with Storm.

Coriander is due in 4 days, although she doesnt quite look like it. So taking everyone out except Ginger so that she can have a quiet time. Funnily Frankie is sticking close to her and tries now and again for a suckle ! Obviously she says no - not yours LOL. Beautiful weather again, just love this weather bbq time !! pimms time !!

H

April 20th 2011

Sorry to all those people trying to get on yesterday - oh what fun Ive had with the web page ! It took 9 hours to up load - way too many pictures, so now re-doing it and trying to do thumbnails - hopefully it will work, if you dont see any over the next couple of weeks, it didnt ! lol.

April 18th 2011

What a beautiful day! I did Dream and JB's hooves and then Pepper's. He was a bit of fun to do, then took him for a walk, as Im "thinking" of taking him to a small show on Sunday. Am I brave enough ?? lol it will be a very interesting day if I am ! Just so nice to mess about with them and JB is so much better - that made me so happy.

April 17th 2011

What a fantastic weekend ! Friday went to our village quiz and had a great night, but not good for the early start for the NPS show with Hazel. She is still hairy, but its such a lovely show that I was looking forward to it. Got up farm early and boxed and we were off. Got there in good time and we did the first class M&M and she came 2nd ! I was so pleased as it was a large class. The championship was on after and to my astonishment we came reserve champion ! wooohooo !! Only trouble is that she started coughing (Oh no!) and so we decided not to do the championship that we had qualified for. She's more important. Came home and party night again with a belated birthday bash. Very late night !

Then today, off again to another show with a huge hangover :( with amber . She was a good girl but like all of ours all a bit too hairy, we came 3rd which I was pleased with as some nice horses in there, home and shattered. JB is so much better and walking normally so tried him out in the rough paddock tonight and see how he is tomorrow. He was so happy to be out and was bouncing around like a 2 yr old. Beautiful day today, flies have just started. Coriander is due in 10 days - give or take of course, lol looking forward to a beautiful hopefully healthy foal.

April 14th 2011

Its freezzzzing !! Jb again has made a huge improvement walking around the arena as normal and Im just so pleased about that. Hazel is having a rub down tomorrow as its just too cold to bath ready for her show on Saturday at Malvern. She has been such a good girl, walking out most days now in hand and getting used to all sorts of things - saddle has come so I can start to ride her a bit now too. She is so lovely.

April 12th 2011

Lots happening, firstly Jb is alot better and now its just time for him. So pleased about that !!. Secondly went to SORCY show to watch Storm jump his first clear round. He was superb ! and took Saith Magical Ginger too. Storm achieved 3rd in the M&M turnout, 2nd in ridden M&M turnout and 4th in the Welsh D class. We took Ginger for a training day and came back with Reserve Supreme of the Show !! She won 1st youngstock and champion, 1st Welsh D's and Champion Welsh, and then Reserve Supreme. An amazing amazing day, was not expecting that from a 2 yr old filly !

March 30th 2011

We picked up Hazel from Mathews and I had a little ride on her - she was very good, just got to get a saddle now and then carry on with her education. Bombproofing this week on the roads (in the rain !). Really pleased with her. Shows starting soon - yahoooo!! ours are normally too hairy for the first shows, but they live out and need that coat. As long as they go well, thats all I ask. But poor things cant ask the same about me ! I bet they think "as long as she can keep up - thats all I ask "! lol. Hopeless runner - especially after the winter - everything wobbles a bit more.

JB still not right, poor lad, but hopefully will get better soon.

My birthday this week - had a great day, went to a Casino for the first time and had a wonderful evening with my boys, Pip and Robbie, hubby (peter) and their girlfriends. Won money and just thought it was a blast. Dont think I'll be a "high flyer" though betting 50p - lol. Came home with £5. profit - wow huh !

H

March 17th 2011

Time is flying again ! We managed to clean out the barn and the outside area, so much better now, although Steve was crippled up for ages, and still is really. He is pretty bad at the moment - Im going to have to get him a motorised scooter ! lol

Went up to Mathew Lawrence's to see Hazel riding - clip of her and Mathew on Hazel's page.

She's being a good girl and had some lovely comments from Mathew and Mark about her. Said that if she was registered C (she is only 13.1) they would have buyers lining up for her ! So we have to wait until she is 7 then she will have matured and Mathew thinks if her training continues, she is good enough to get to HOYS and Olympia, I think I stood with my mouth open for a long time after he said that ! lol. But nothing we can do except educate her now and get her used to all the joyful things that pop out at the shows !

Talking of shows, all starting in April again, and as usual ours look scruffy and full of coat ! Same could be said about me at the moment ! Need to get some new running gear - a tent would be good look lol

Mathew wants me to ride Hazel out with him next week and then she comes home. We will carry on her education with Jenni once a week and Jenni said she is giving me homework ! lol. That will be detention for me then.

Went out for two rides this week and just loved them, usual busy roads, but with picking Jenni's brain constantly Ive found that JB is now actually alot more chilled when buses and tractors come flying past. Really pleased with him yesterday, he was horrendous with bikes, but one came towards him and past him and he looked but didnt flinch. I was beaming after that.

Then Rob decided that he would like to go metal detecting with me. When I went out of horses for a short time to have the kids, couldnt stay in, so bought a metal detector, thats how I met Steve, and off we went - loved it, love history and treasure hunting ! So we had a great laugh, Rob and I. It was a perfect week really, beautiful weather, riding in the mornings, treasure hunting in the afternoon. Housework did come in there somewhere, but I block that memory out ! lol

Kate is coming over on Sunday (morgans mum) and Nick farrier, on Monday - so tidy up time today. :) Boring.....

New Web page nearly done, Im hoping it will be up by the end of next week - thats if Ive done everything right ! lol

H

2nd March 2011

Its March - yes !! spring is in the air and daffodils are starting to come up. Still unsure whether to sell Amber or not, some people came to see her on saturday and she was a monster ! lol I havent done anything with her in ages and just lunged her and she went potty ! then settled. So that was that :)

She is so lovely and such a character - its so hard for me to sell her. Anyway, have a month to decide and then she goes in foal, and keep dream or Coriander not in foal - so still only two foals, and she has produced Pepper who is amazing.

Went down to see Lucy over the weekend and had a lovely morning messing about with Storm. She is off to another dressage competition on the weekend and fingers crossed she does well again. Such a beautiful place she has and the rosettes line the wall! I was so impressed. Storm looks fab, clipped and he was solid.

Hopefully the full clean out of the barn today and the outside yard, borrowing a tractor from next door, then getting some hay up and we're done. Oh a quick lunge for darling amber ! lol

Done well with the hay we may even get to the end of winter with an old bale left - pleased with that, its been harder doing haynets instead of them having hay in the big round pens, but it has saved us alot of waste this year, and they needed to peg back a bit as they were all getting too fat.

Coriander due in roughly 6 weeks time, and dream 4 weeks after her. So looking forward to both foals being healthy and not chestnut :)

Heard from Mathew and beautiful Hazel is (at the moment) being a good girl. Lunged, long reined and saddle/bridle on and all ok. phew !

Went to the show yesterday. Great to be out and seeing old friends. Hazel was brought in last place out of 7 and I thought, ok, mature C's and D's and she is not even 4 (june foal) and she doesnt carry the weight that some of them were. I was just glad we were there, as the breast bar in the trailer broke, luckily Lucy (with Storm) gave us another one a few months ago, so we tried to fix it first, and then remembered that one ! We were pretty close to missing the class, so I was pleased we got in there.

we did our display and to my astonishment was pulled in 3rd place !! yahoo. the judge was most complimentary about her and just said she needs a bit of maturing - yep ! lol

Dropped her off at Mathew's and Marks place, beautiful - so she will start her education and hopefully be a good girl. Came home and looked at the lovely photos of her and deleted them by mistake - I was so annoyed - then checked the video that steve took and he had the pause on when filming me, and the recording on when not filming me and hazel. Not pleased with that. He is playing darts today and I rang him and told him off ! but the photographer took a lovely one, so will buy that one.

Lucy (and storm) has won another dressage class ! 2nd in the next one and out of the placings in the last one as Storm stopped dead and then carried on ! bit strange but lucy had a good giggle over it. He is a star.

Just noticed that Sapphire is up for sale again on horsequest. So sad for her. I really hope she gets a lovely home.

Cant believe it, left the water on again last week and so the barn was flooded and our cobs now have no problems with going through water!. So another 4 hours mucking out soaking wet sawdust - I know I had to do it all, to clean out the barn, disinfect it and straw it out ready for Coriander to foal. Just wasnt expecting to do it in the rain :( and 6 weeks early !

Put the saddle and bridle on Hazel and she did absolutely nothing. Unbelieveable. So proud of her, took it all in her stride. We measured her again and this time she was under 13.2, so now the Section C registration might be happening after all. Just have to wait until she is 7 and only do C and D classes until then. I hope I dont look too big on her, she is just such a lovely looking filly. Now off to the show on Saturday with her, her first in with the adults, now being 4.

Couldnt get much energy to do stuff today, did the haynets and water of course, and jenni came over to use the arena for 5 minutes, and then I was supposed to clean the trailer out and measure her nose for a new in hand headcollar, our old one is definitely starting to get weathered, and tidy up a bit - but it all went out the window.

Terrible about the two racehorses at Newbury - so sad.

Time just seems to be flying at the moment. Took Hazel out for a walk, what a good girl she was. We had large white vans, parked white vans with ladders on the top, larma's, cars going at 100 miles an hour past her, it was fun, but she was a really good girl and by the end, she didnt bat an eyelid. Very pleased with her. Waiting for my "pony" bridle (tiny head) and then can start mouthing her. She looks ok to show in two weeks time, might have to give her a bit of hard feed over the next couple of weeks just to put a finish on her. Very hairy though ! lol

Great news today !!! Saithstud is now trademarked ! Steve and I are so happy about this.

Have ridden Jb a couple of times and he is such a star, met some friends on their horses and he thought he was off hunting, started prancing and jogging, it was so funny. He just makes me laugh. Cant believe he's 12, still acts like a 2 yr old.

Looking forward to spring, and the foals being born, but not the part of waiting for them to pop out!. lol. Coriander could have a chestnut, palomino, buckskin or black. So Im excited about her ! Dream could have a black, chestnut or bay. Would love a buckskin out of Coriander though.- please upstairs listening .... no chestnuts ! lol

1st February 2011

Back from hols in France - lovely out there, ate and drank way too much so back on huge diet again!

Lovely to come back to the news that Saith Magical Delight has been sold to Nicky and Adrian. Delight has settled in well and is getting used to a busy yard (very beautiful busy yard).

The second good news is that Jazz has moved yards and is also settling in much better than in the other yard. Starting to return to her old self !

The third lot of good news is that Lucy (with Saith Black Storm) has won 2nd in Best In Hand Pony,2nd in Best Ridden Pony, 1st in Best Dressage Pony - with a trophy engraved with BKRC Dressage Pony Points Award Winner 2010, and champion ridden for the horse with most points at the Brent Knoll Riding Club points awards evening.

Lucy and Storm have also won another dressage competition on the weekend. Well done guys !!

Im just about to go out and take Hazel for a walk to start her education now. Oh the joys of a young horse! lol, well its to get me a bit fitter too.

Steve coped well while I was away, but back was a bit bad during that time.

21st January 2011

Saith Magical Delight is now in her new home on her week's trial. It took us about 5 hours to get there, with lots of stops on the way. We arrived at a beautiful place in Polegate, and it was wow - Delight certainly has landed in heaven, with Nicky and Adrian as well as the surroundings. We turned her out into the very large arena and she was brill. Had a roll and a bit of a play but stayed with us most of the time. She was a bit sweaty, but not worried. She then went into her stable, which was beautifully prepared with thick sawdust, to be wormed and flu jabbed today and Nicky is going to take her for a walk on the gallops ! brave girl !! Nicky told me that she has received so much attention from everyone there, and loving every minute of it, which I knew she would. She just needed someone to fuss her 24/7!

Drive home was long, and we got home about 8ish, and although I was sad (hate saying goodbye to them) Im hoping Delight is ok for the week and she stays with Nicky, so watch this space !!! She'll have a long talking to if she is naughty ! lol

Hols tomorrow, so no horses today, housework, packing (im the lastminute.com type of person) and hoping my boys dont wreck the place in a week. Steve is on horse duty and im hoping he will be ok, as his back was extremely bad yesterday, but at least he has one less now ! lol. Well actually 3 less as we moved Dream and Amber down to the bottom field for a month or so to lose a bit of weight, he wont know himself :)

Hope I come back in one piece !

19th January 2011

Saith Magical Delight has had her vetting and passed with flying colours - phew - so she is off to her new home tomorrow. We are taking her down, and Nicky/ adrian will be there waiting for her. Its a long way, but we will do a few stops for her, she should be ok. Had Nick over to do half the horses hooves (nick is a barefoot trimmer) and they were all good. Ginger still looks a bit long at the moment, so not sure if we are going to take her on the

19th Feb to the NPS winter woolleys show (where every horse looks amazing and not a woolley one in there.... except ours !! lol)

Hazel will be down with Mathew Lawrence being broken it, so not sure whether to delay it until the show and take her to his place afterwards. Shall have a chat to him and see what he wants to do. See how desperate I get having been without a show for so long !

All systems go this week, as going on hols on saturday, this week has flown. !

17th January 2011

Nicky and Adrian came down - lovely people, (all the way from Brighton) and fell in love with delight, so after vetting (figures crossed)she will be travelling down to nicky on thursday, for her week's trial. Its always the way, once I decided that Jenni would break her in, and take her off the market, Nicky was on the phone and coming down ! Maybe I need to do something like that with the lottery.

Vet came over and did Corianders, Jb's, Hazels, delights and amber's teeth. They were all so very good, really pleased with them.

Had a lovely ride with jb today with jenni, and picked her brain as normal. She is amazing with horses, I just love hearing her experiences and the ways she's helped horses. We have larma's on one of our rides and JB findsHI, well what a fun weekend
Picture of Saith Magical Ginger, at the bottom, she came 2nd yesterday at Stretcholt SW welsh show. Lovely place. But that wasnt the start of it. Steve was actually up the farm before me and Ginger and Pepper were stabled, Jazz and Frankie were wandering around the barn, pulled everything everywhere, so Steve had to sort all that out before I got up there. Dont know how they got out ! but I think Pepper helped undo the clip that keeps the door closed between the barn and the stables !
Noone hurt, but a huge mess, and of course Ginger was tucked. Travelled down well and booked in and waited. Got on and Ginger actually ran with me ! yes !!! Not fast and not brilliant, but we plodded around and pulled in 3rd. Then our individual and got moved up to 2nd place !! Very pleased with that. She couldnt have beaten the yearling colt, he was black and beautiful. It did bring home that Ginger is just not ready to go up to the Royal Welsh. She just didnt have the weight, and is really out of shape through a growing stage she is having. My chunky chestnut now looks lanky !

Saith Black Storm went too, and was brought in 7th in the ridden and moved up to 4th ! Lucy was really pleased as he was a bit full of himself earlier, but behaved beautifully when it mattered

We did the championship and she still ran with me. Wouldnt stand - dont know whats wrong with my cobs on that point ! - but she enjoyed herself and loaded back up nicely, travelled well home and when we got to our gates, there's Pepper looking at me !! Oh how did he get out !! So he praced all the way up the drive and I saw one of our fences was down and he popped back over the bottom rail as if to say - there you go, look at me ! So funny.
Rugged up Ginger, put her out and came out, bath, out to a friends house with pete for dinner back at 2am! So it was a lovely day. Steve strugged on his ankle quite badly, but still tried to run, to see if he could do it.
Everyone fine today, have to get johnnie up so that I can ride on nice days.
